1. Icebreaker – Easy Entry

  1. Have you ever had a season where you intentionally stepped away from something (social media, food, entertainment, etc.)? What did you notice about yourself during that time?

  2. When you hear the words “prayer and fasting,” what’s your honest reaction?

  3. What usually distracts you the most from spending time with God?

2. Drawing Near to God

  1. The sermon described prayer and fasting as a way of intentionally drawing closer to God. Why do you think our relationship with God sometimes drifts into routine instead of depth?

  2. Pastor compared fasting to a “relationship getaway” where we intentionally reconnect with God. When have you experienced a moment where your relationship with God felt deeper than usual?

  3. What practices help you personally slow down and become more aware of God’s presence?

3. Spirit, Soul, and Body

  1. The sermon explained that we are made up of spirit, soul, and body. Which of those three do you think influences your decisions the most right now?

  2. Why do you think denying ourselves is necessary if we want to truly follow Jesus?

Prayer and fasting are not about earning God’s favor. They are about aligning our hearts, denying ourselves, and creating space for God’s power to work in our lives.

  1. What is one area of your life where you are believing God for breakthrough right now?

  2. During these 14 days of prayer and fasting, what is one way you feel led to stretch yourself spiritually?
    (Example: fasting a meal, giving up social media, spending extra time in prayer, taking prayer walks, etc.)

  3. What would it look like for you to approach this season not as a duty, but as an opportunity to draw closer to God?
